GA - from the Atlanta Journal Constitution: On Monday, Senate President Pro Tem Eric Johnson (R-Savannah) said at a news conference that he'd introduce a bill requiring a human to connect with a caller before giving a political pitch. While the bill won't help voters this election season, Johnson said he hopes it puts the issue on the front burner.
PA - from the York Tribune: With the presidential race heating up, candidates are using automated telephone calls to reach into more and more homes. State Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-York City, calls them "robo-calls," and he's among several lawmakers hoping to place them under new restrictions. DePasquale has proposed a bill that would, for the first time, require all automated political calls to include information about who is paying for them.
